PROFESSIONAL REVIEWS
Once I had started reading, I could see this one was different as, for once, the focus was on blending. Written in the readable yet knowledgeable style we have come to expect from Chrissie Wildwood.

Students of aromatherapy are often frustrated in their search for a reference manual which can be used with confidence. This book easily meets these requirements, helping the trainee develop the ability to meet the needs of future clients and patients, who are increasingly better informed themselves. The Aesthetic Blending Guide for over 80 oils brings new scope for the practitioner.

If the book has one principal value, it's the plain, uncomplicated writing in clearly defined, information-packed sections. I am often asked if I could recommend a good book on aromatherapy, which is not too technical but has all the relevant information. Aromatherapy in Essence fits the bill.

When examining such a wide section of oils, the Considerations section for each oil is invaluable, as it covers contra-indications and cautions without excluding an oil because of its limitations. Blending is the book's strength and encourages the use of synergistic effects of accurate and elegant blending.
